We are particularly known for our practice in handling the defence of negligence claims for the construction legal and accountancy professions.

Construction
We provide legal advice and, where necessary, representation in relation to projects throughout the world. We advise all sides of the construction and engineering industries including employer, contractors, sub-contractors, suppliers and designers of all types of engineering contracts (e.g. civil, power, process, structural etc.).

Professional Negligence
We act for Insurers and their Insureds, in handling professional endemnity claims for engineers, architects and surveyors, as well as for solicitors, barristers, accountants and insurance brokers.

Beale and company is known for handling high vlue claims. We advise on risk management and other ways of reducing or preventing claims.

Corporate Services
We advise on all aspects of company commecial transactions, including acquisitions and dispossals of businesses; setting up joint ventures; corporate finance arrangements; re-structuring of companies and partnerships; establishing commercial contractual relationships such as distribution, agency and licensing networks; intellectual property; directors' duties and liabilities; partnership disputes; corporate compliance.

Construction Dispute Resolution
EAST AFRICA: 150km road dispute; DAB proceedings, arbitration proceedings, extensive advice on FIDIC based contract - actining for international contractor.
EAST AFRICA: Acting for an East African harbours authority in connection with a disputed claim for in excess of £100m arising from a construction contract relating to harbour improvements.
UGANDA: Acted for the electricity authority in DRB proceedings and an UNCITRAL arbitration in respect of money claims arising from the construction of a major Hydro plant.
BRAZIL, POLAND: Acting on project documentation for a number of thermal power stations.
EGYPT: Acted for an international contractor in an ICC arbitration in respect of a major hotel project in Cairo.
EAST AFRICA: Acting for an East African harbours authority in connection with a disputed claim for £300m arising from a construction contract relating to harbour improvements.
TANZANIA: Advising in respect of disputes arising from major road projects in that country including DAB proceedings and an ICC arbitration.
EAST AFRICA: Advising an international contrator in relation to a dispute arising out of a hospital development.
BANGLADESH: Acting for a Japanese contractor in an EICC arbitration arising out of a gas turbine power station. Claim value $10m.
INTERNATIONAL: Representing clinets in dispute review board and dispute adjudication proceedings. Partners of the firm also sit as Board members.
ITALY: Contested an injunction obtained by an Italian contractor in Milan, Italy restraining a Guarantor Bank from making payment on the Performance Bond. Our client was an East African utility company and this case went to the Appeal Court in Milan.
PHILIPPINES: Successfully defended one of the largest claims ever taken to Judgement in the UK. The claim arose out of the construction of the 2 x 609MW Sual power station in the Philippines.
