Wardell Armstrong is a multi-disciplined consultancy, operating as an independent partnership. We offer services in minerals management, geology, geotechnics, mining engineering, civil and structural engineering, land reclamation, waste management and landfill engineering, renewable energy, environmental assessment and pollution control, and health and safety engineering.

ACTIVITIES
Feasibility & Due Diligence Studies, Mine Planning, Project Management:
Feasibility studies for underground and openpit mines and detailed mine design. Specification and costing of mine equipment and services. Scheduling of construction and production. Financial and economic analysis. Preparation of tender documentation and the assessment of bids for construction and supply of equipment. Procurement assistance and construction supervision.
Resource Appraisals:
Geological, geophysical and hydrogeological appraisals. Design and supervision of exploration programmes and resource/reserve assessments.
Waste Management & Disposal:
Evaluation and design of waste disposal facilities. Investigation, monitoring and control of gas and leachate from landfill sites. Groundwater and soil pollution studies.
Land Regeneration:
Site investigation and pollution in characterisation. Design and supervision of reclamation and remediation schemes for derelict/contaminated land. Stabilisation of shallow mineworkings, shafts, mine entries and waste tips. Backfilling and compaction of openpit and quarry operations. Advice on future land usage.
Renewable Energy:
Technical support for investigation, design and implementation of aquifer geothermal, wind, waste-to-energy and biomass projects
Environmental Services:
Environmental assessment, impact, monitoring, management and audits. Pollution control of mining and metal-forming industries and design of protection measures. Mine closure and restoration programmes and landscaping.
Geotechnics:
Slope stability assessments and rock mechanics studies. Advice on mining subsidence and ground stabilisation.
Mineral Estate Management:
Lease and licence advice and negotiations. Advice on mineral portfolio development. Mineral asset valuations for internal accounting, loan security, stock exchange listing, acquisition and disposal.
Civil & Structural Engineering:
Investigation and design of highways, bridges, structures, tunnels, services and infrastructure. Structural appraisals and damage assessments.
Health & Safety:
Expert advice on safe working practices and implications of legislation changes. Accident and personal injury investigations, arbitration and provision of expert witness. Monitoring of working environments.
