CATBIG: Turkmenistan Country Focus

Date: Monday, 12 December 2011
Time: 1530
Venue: British Expertise, 10 Grosvenor Gardens, London SW1W 0DH

The British Embassy in Ashgabat, in cooperation with the Government of Turkmenistan, established the Turkmenistan UK Trade & Industry Council (TUKTIC) in 2010 as part of an initiative to develop business opportunities for UK companies in Turkmenistan.

As part of the FCO's Commercial Diplomacy initiative, a scoping mission to identify priority sectors and projects took place in Ashgabat from 3 - 5 October. HM Ambassador to Turkmenistan Keith Allan invited the following to take part:

  • Ambassador Ron Nash, UK Co-Chair, TUKTIC
  • Nigel Peters, Director British Expertise & CATBIG
  • Richard Melton, Construction Equipment Association

They have written a report of their visit which they will launch and take questions on at this meeting, at which the new Deputy Head of Mission at the British Embassy, Martin Fenner, will be present.

Details will also be given of the next TUKTIC meeting to be held in London possibly in early January, and also an outward mission to Turkmenistan which British Expertise/CEA/CATBIG will organise in March 2012.
