Keith Allan, HM Ambassador to Turkmenistan, will update us on the political, economic and commercial situation in Turkmenistan at a CATBIG Country Focus meeting to be held on Thursday 20 January at 1500. We also hope that Ron Nash, UK Co-Chair of the recently launched Turkmenistan UK Trade & Industry Council (TUKTIC) will be present.
This will be the first time that CATBIG has held a Turkmenistan Focus meeting, but there has been a great deal of interest in the market at general meetings. Keith Allan arrived in Ashgabat as HM Ambassador in January 2010, so it will be an ideal time to hear his experiences of his first year in post. TUKTIC is an initiative to get UK and Turkmen commercial interests heard at the highest level in the respective Governments so that we can all make the most of the improving commercial opportunities in Turkmenistan.
CATBIG members with experience of working in Turkmenistan will be welcome to give their experiences, and networking drinks will follow the formal part of the meeting.
