Although Dubai has had some well publicised difficulties over the last two years, it has remained resilient. The real estate market and access to credit may remain a problem for the Emirate, but there are signs of recovery as the Authorities focus on restoring confidence and on public sector infrastructure projects. One third of all public spending (£1.7bn) has been allocated to maintaining and enhancing Dubai’s infrastructure, and there is particular interest in healthcare and education facilities, as well as public transport projects.

Despite the downturn, Dubai has remained popular as a base for UK companies with a large number of incentives, and trade levels have remained high. This event will look behind the headlines at the current state of Dubai and highlight areas where UK consultancies should be looking to win business.

Speakers will include:

  • Peter Grimsditch, Editorial Director of the Oxford Business Group
  • David Butter, Regional Director, Middle East & North Africa, Economist Intelligence Unit
  • Tony Prior, Director Asset & Risk Appraisal, American Appraisal
  • Martin Harman, Partner, Pinsent Masons

The seminar will be held from 1530 - 1800 on Wednesday 15 September at British Expertise and will close with networking drinks.

Thanks to sponsorship by the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing there will be no charge to attend this event.
