DFID and the Middle East Region

Karen Pillay, DFID's Private Sector Advisor for the Middle East/North Africa region will present DFID's strategy for increasing private sector investment in the region.

The recent White Paper placed a strong emphasis on growth and job creation through private sector development, including in fragile and conflict affected states. Karen will set out how DFID is taking this forward in the region - both in individual countries and regionally - through increasing access to markets for the poorest, improving the business enabling environment and encouraging international investment in the region.

DFID is also keen to learn from members' experiences in the region, and look forward to an open discussion on what more could be done.
