This week we welcomed Jane Corbin, Award Winning Broadcaster, Author and Investigative Journalist, and member of our Advisory Board, who shared her current take on developments in the Middle East with a packed room of Strategy members, as well as some very welcome recent members from the Middle East Association. On Thursday 31 August, we invite members to Trade & Investment Queensland to meet with the Mayor of Sunshine Coast, Mark Jamieson, and discuss strategies for Smart Cities. The Sunshine Coast council's smart city development at Maroochydore has recently been showcased at the annual assembly of local governments in Canberra, and the Mayor is keen to discuss plans for future infrastructure projects. Places at this event are very limited, so please contact Melina Tay if you would like to attend.
Finally, we are also pleased to announce that on Thursday 19 October, we will be joined by the Governor of Arizona, Doug Ducey for a briefing on advancing the UK-US relationship and exploring the mutually beneficial opportunities for business, trade and investment between the two nations. Arizona is nationally recognised as a centre of excellence in emerging industries such as Aerospace and Defence, Healthcare and Life Sciences, Business and Financial Services, Technology and Innovation, Optics and Photonics, Renewable Energy and Advanced Manufacturing. The discussion will be of significant value to companies with an interest in any of these areas and more.
